Dumbo Gets Mad : Elephants At The Door

Dumbo Gets Mad: Terrible band name. Great music. Amazing moustache. In the vein of other lo-fi psychedelic troupers like Ariel Pink, DGM's album covers limbo, marmalade and prawns over 10 tracks of fuzzpop rhythm and blooze. This is Bad Panda's first physical release after releasing a free digital single every Monday since November '09. Commendable stuff.

Crystal Stilts : In Love with Oblivion

Moody garage-psyche-jangle band Crystal Stilts release a new album 'In Love with Oblivion' on 11th April on Fortuna Pop! (UK) and Slumberland (US). Recent single 'Shake The Shackles' is just as fuzzy as their debut 'Alight Of Night' but hints things may have moved a few more steps popwards.

Dinosaur Feathers / Carnivores : Split 7"

London based blog Music Mule is stepping into the label world releasing its debut record, a 300-limited-edition pressing of a quadruple A-side split 7" from psychedelic, harmony ridden three-piece Dinosaur Feathers and Tropical flavoured garage punk outfit Carnivores. And very tasty it is too with Dinosaur Feathers coming across like Animal Collective's bratty younger brothers and Carnivores living up to their meat-eating moniker.

Soars : Figurehead

Here's another track from Eastern Pennsylvania shoegazers Soars' self-titled debut album. Influences of Cocteau Twins and My Bloody Valentine ring true with hushed vocals and intensely effected guitars. 'Soars' is out next week on limited 12" colored vinyl, CD and digital download courtesy of La Société Expéditionnaire.

Little Gold : Completely Fucked!

I'm something of a sucker for 3 minute, fuzzy indie pop songs like 'Completely Fucked!' by Little Gold. It's taken from a new 7" out now on NYC label Heart Break Beat.

Slow Animal : theFUNsun

New Jersey duo Slow Animal kick out infectiously fuzzy DIY pop jams. Growing up on mostly punk and hardcore music, after 6 years, 5 dead end bands and 8 different people, Alexander & Daniel came to the realization that they worked best as a duo. Their debut 7" 'theFUNsun' is released by Jax Art now.

The Baker Brothers & Talc Live

I'm playing records at this night with some of my favourite people: funk trio The Baker Brothers, "the greatest band in the world" Talc and the legend that is Dom Servini. Its in support of The Baker Bros new album 'Avid Sounds', which features versions of some of their (and mine as it happens) favourite songs including: Fly Like An Eagle, Family Tree, Shack Up, Street Player...and more!

Neon Circus : Digit-izm

Leicester's Neon Circus count Ian Brown, Who Made Who, The Rapture, LCD Soundsystem and DJ Shadow amongst their many influences, which shows in the gritty 00s punk-funk of 'Digit-izm'. Their debut single 'Future Disco' is released early 2010 ahead of an album.

The Cave Singers : Welcome Joy

Seattle trio The Cave Singers released a rather wonderful debut album in 2007 with 'Invitation Songs' and through what seemed to be a never ending run of shows caught the ear of many a discerning listener. 'Welcome Joy' picks up where that left off but with a more focused and measured production, which grows beyond their usual delicate arrangements. Cracked voices and a good touch with a tune keep it interesting and on the right side of country-folk throughout.
