And speaking of Brainlove, the label has just announced a fascinating new album release by Chicago's Joel Midden aka Bastardgeist. His ethereal sound is constructed from layers of kalimba, processed vocals, samples, guitar and guest drums by Sam Scranton of The Leaf Label's collective Volcano!. The album is due late 2010 with the three tracks here providing a taster.
